Beacon of Vision

Born into a family of artists, Cheyenne Arapaho artist Nathan Pratt was shown the beauty of the creative process at an early age. Around the age of 10, he started selling his ceramic sculptures. For more than 30 years, he has created and sold hundreds of sculptures in a wide variety of mediums including bronze, steel, wood, acrylic, ceramic, foam, plastic, tape, paper, concrete, water, glass, ice and stone. His love of diverse materials led him to learn more about invention, prototyping, fabrication and manufacturing processes. One day he hopes to perfect a process for shaping water flow into three-dimensional shapes.
After obtaining a marketing degree from the University of Oklahoma, he began to combine his interests in sculpture, marketing and product development. In addition to starting a product development company, he has gained experience working for companies in corporate awards and prosthetic device manufacturing. With four issued US utility patents and several patents in development, his interests span the fields of art, firearms, construction, furniture and kitchen devices. He is a two-time recipient of Journal Record Innovator of the Year awards.
He is most passionate about community-based art and design projects. Over the last decade, he has worked as a teacher, mentor and administrator in various after school programs. Collaborating with his students, he has produced public art exhibits for the Myriad Botanical Gardens.
